In this instance cultural differences had to be taken into account as these Monks practise their own way of self healing which are used world wide, ie. Meditation to bring the mind and body into balance.

Many people are now turning to exercises which promote mind and body healing especially meditation and yoga programmes. In my volunteer work with the disabled and in some cases traumatised children, reflexology has been immediately accepted as it is completely non invasive and calming. The feedback I have received is that the children’s behaviour has changed dramatically to a calmer atmosphere. The most amazing experience in reflexology is experiencing the changes in your body whilst you are having a session which mostly eases areas of stress either in the neck or spine. I always like to work with the meridian points on both hands and feet as the natural flow of reflexes in the workings of the body between organs and glands sustains that much needed balance between mind and body. For instance, one of the most complained about areas of the body is the digestive organs. In some cases clients have been completely oblivious to the allergies caused by the food they eat and will often blame their bloatedness in the midrift area on being overweight. When a person feels like this, it is then time to seek the advice of a Reflexologist and a Nutritionist to encourage healthy living and balanced mind and body.
